Some happy for you, collected over the past week, and saved for just such an occasion:
Alex sitting on my lap, sort of playing "pony": Stop Mom, I'm getting Sky-Sick!
My camera is coming back!!! Oh the long sorrow of parting, not to mention the long sorrow of a slowly deteriorating Lens problem, is finally nearing completion. I plan on a veritable 8rgy of photography (not to be confused with 8rgy photographs so don't report me to anyone alright? In fact now that I think about it I'm replacing the "o" there with 8, just in case, we don't want those 8rgy seekers ending up at our wholesome local now do we? I thought about 0--read zero--but that reminded me too much of spam.)
Jon: Mom you know why I read Calvin and Hobbes?
Me: It's funny?
Jon: No, to make plans!

I'm foreseeing many fun movie nights in the very near future.
I was wishing about a month ago to see Gone with the Wind again. Remember when they would play it every year, and it was an event? I haven't seen it for years though.
And we were just talking about how we should get the Indiana Jones movies (well maybe not the second one) to watch with our kids now that they are getting old enough. We saw a Harrison Ford Biography, the kids wanted to watch because of Star Wars, and they showed some clips from Raiders of the Lost Ark. So it was all such a fun coincidence that we lost our heads and bought them both.
The weather while still warm enough to enjoy being outside has a noticeable bite in the air...that means I can use my oven again. Tomorrow Chili Verde...oh yum!!!! I have to go make tortillas tonight since I want to eat as soon as I get home from church tomorrow.
In 8 days of school my kids spent $75 of lunch money...no wait, that's not the happy part...we decided to go back to the 4 days packing - 1 day school lunch plan. And it seemed fortuitous that I have 4 kids as well. I've always planned on cooking with my kids, but during dinner hours I'm usually pretty stressed for time and as I want it to be a good experience, not one that turns them off of cooking forever, I've never really wanted to have extra helpers. But now, I let them each pick one lunch from http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/family/specialfeature/backtoschool_food_sf/ or other recipes. Then we make them together the night before. They've chosen some pretty good recipes with veggies and other good stuff AND they are eating them. So cool. They're very proud of their new cooking prowess too. So cute. I'm sure this will be part of the picture "8rgy" to come.
Most of my kids' pants from last year still fit. I was thinking at least 3 of them were going to need all new pants, but it turns out they'll only need a couple of new ones right away. At least until Grant hits another growth spurt (he's the closest to outgrowing his pants).
Tom's ankle is finally doing better. Yay! He actually mowed the lawn, our neighbors are much appreciative I'm sure.
Went shopping with Alex yesterday, we found ourselves in the plumbing aisle. "Look Mom, it's for a bow an arrow for catching mice!" We were looking at the plungers. Apparently, he knows his Tom and Jerry.
Suzanne Vega is coming at the end of the month. Yay! More concert fun!
While I was driving Alex to school we heard this commercial with this boy asking his Mom if she'll still love him when he's 10, 15...as old as you?!? (like that's as old as possible, lol). So he started mimicking it.
PS: Now why didn't you all tell me that green is completely unreadable with that aqua background. But don't worry I'll fix it.
