Hah!!!! I can't sew... Actually, I can... I just haven't in 20 years... I could cut out a pattern... And with a refresher, I could sew using a pattern. Do the amazing creations you come up with with your imagination??? Not a chance...

Glad you aren't as sad today... That's a lot of posting for reassuring the two people who tried to console you... The costumes sound wonderful - I'm sure you'll post photos...

Yeah! I can't sew either. I'd only be able to strategically wrap sheets around the kids and then the mother you talked about would have a freak out as she screamed at me that Mulan was not a Greek Goddess going to a Tago Party.

Kat

Never heard of a Tago party... Maybe it's a toga party (haha)... She's funnier than I am - I wish I would have thought of that...

Kat ~ I will put you to work...you can help make 30 or so helmets for the army out of milk jugs. I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to pull that off, but I'm not going to worry about it until after Halloween anyway.

Kat 2 ~ We all wish we were as funny as EWBL...you should read her blog. Seriously.

EWBL ~ I don't think sheets are in our budget anyway. But I'll pass along the idea, maybe next year the kids could do Medea! I can imagine it now "I know indeed what evil I intend to do, but stronger than all my afterthoughts is my fury, fury that brings upon mortals the greatest evils." It'd be awesome!

All right, I NEVER do those little quizzes but I am off to do the Twilight one! As for sewing, I hate it and always admire people who can do it. Really, the only time of the year that I wish I could sew is Halloween. My own mother was an amazing seamstress and used to whip us up the best costumes. Take heart--homemade costumes are MUCH better than store-bought anyday!

Kat

I can totally see Medea the Suessical... Instead of singing happy, inspirational songs - the entire thing could be set to a funeral dirge and heavy metal (all that seething anger and such...)

Sorry to disillusion you though... No togas in a Greek Tragedy... Maybe they could do Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum...

I'm a brat... I know. Can't help it. I can totally see how to make a helmet out of a milk jug... Maybe because we're in the process of creating a horrifically injured "Pumpkin Man" (shaped like snow man...)

Millie

Your sewing prowess amazes me. Seriously. It's great that you're helping, even if it's with Japanese kimonos for a fictional Chinese character.

I love how anal people get about stupid things like this, especially when they don't do anything to help. :)

Wow - you're impressive. I can sew, but I try to keep it tightly under wraps.

In fact, I didn't sew ANY Halloween costumes this year. I used the excuse of "new baby" and "moving" to not even open one pattern this fall season. We found the costumes at Goodwill or using stuff we already had. Grace is Cinderella (using her dress from Heidi's wedding and i bought her crown & shoes at walmart), Aubrey is a little mouse (costume from Ebay), Addie is Junie B. Jones (all bought at Goodwill) and Hannah is a cup of hot chocolate (you'll have to see this one to believe it - again no sewing.)

And Ethan is also Indiana Jones! How fun that two cousins so far away came up with the same costume idea. I lucked out and found a boy's "leather" jacket at Goodwill in September for $5. It is black instead of brown, but he looks the part. The hat and whip came from Amazon.com. (Sorry about the collar - that sounds painful.)

Send me a picture of Alex and i'll send you one of Ethan! He will be so excited that his cousin is the same as him.
